Many businesses think they have a backup plan. They might burn some data to a DVD, or have an external hard drive plugged in to backup their computer.

These might be some form of back up – but they are not disaster proof.

Ask yourself if your business premises burnt down overnight – would you have the necessary backups in place to be able to keep trading elsewhere?

Most businesses would not be able to.

Generally its only the people who have lost important data before that make the effort to have a robust, secure and disaster proof backup plan.

As your data is generally one of the most important assets to your business, you should be treating it as such. You should at the very least have offsite backups of your MYOB/Quickbooks data files, customer contact details and your emails.

If you are in any kind of health profession such as doctor, dentist, physiotherapist, chiropractor you need to be aware of the State Records Act which states that you must keep copies of all patient records for a minimum of 7 years.

So before you get complacent about your backup solution – take the time to call us today to get an evaluation of your current backup plan. And a recommendation of what you need to implement to make your business disaster proof.
